Following the huge success of the 1st IFRC 2017 and the 2nd IFRC 2019, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) through the Faculty of Food Science and Technology (FSTM), as the country’s forerunner institution in food and agriculture, is once again taking the initiative to organise the 3rd IFRC 2024.

Theory and Hands-On Workshop on Rheological Characterization Using Haake Mars 40 and Mars 60 Rheometers

Course content:

Introduction to Rheology
Basic principles: viscosity, elasticity, shear stress and shear rate.
Newtonian and Non-Newtonian behaviours.
Overview of Haake Mars 40 and Mars 60 Rheometers
System design, components and specifications.
Key differences between Mars 40 and Mars 60.
Instrument Operation and Calibration
Setup procedures and geometry selection.
Calibration and verification methods.
Hands-On Practical Session
Conducting flow, oscillatory and creep tests.
Data collection and troubleshooting common issues.
Data Analysis and Interpretation
Analysis of rheological parameters and curves.
Application-based case studies.
Discussion and Q&A Session.
