Applied Principles and Practical Insights in High-Pressure Processing (HPP) and Food Plant Design

Course content:

  • Fundamentals of High-Pressure Processing (HPP).
  • Industrial applications and case studies.
  • HPP demonstration, hands-on, data interpretation and discussion.
  • Basic principle of Food plant design, Food Safety and Hygiene Design.
  • Optimization of process flow and space.
  • Plant visit.

Speaker information/ background/achievement:

Ms. Cloris Lei graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree of Pharmaceutical Science (2022), and later earned a Master’s degree in Food Science from Cornell University (2024). She conducted research on the anticancer effects and other potential benefits of bioactive compounds derived from natural products. Cloris Lei is currently an Applications Specialist in the HPP Food Applications Department at Hiperbaric’s Shanghai office, which opened in 2024. Cloris plays a fundamental role in conducting HPP testing and providing technical guidance to current and prospective users, ensuring the successful application of HPP across diverse food products in Asia.

 

Mr. Low Boon Khoon has over 26 years working experiences in NESTLE FOODS (M) SDN BHD in Technical & Production – manufacturing, cost and productivity optimization, manufacturing system implementation (SAP), Supply Chain – Implementation of Demand & Supply planning modelling (SAP), Demand & Supply Planning, Procurement Management, Upgrading of Automatic Warehouse System (ASRS) and Warehouse management. UPM – FSTM Adjunct Professor – Consultancy of UPM – Food 8 “premium juice line and HPP” plant layout and design, commissioning and industrialization.
